She studied electrical engineering at Aalborg University 1984-89, andreceived her M.Sc.E.E. degree with a specialization in biomedical engineering.

During her studies she worked periodically as an engineering assistant at an SME developing simple communication and control units for severely disabled persons. After graduating - and after ½ year of adventurous journey through South America - she started working at Aalborg University (as research assistant 1990-95, teaching assistant and technical amanuensis 1995, assistant professor 1995-99, associate professor 1999-, head of section 2006-, and professor 2008).

In 1995 she received the Ph.D. degree in Acoustics for her work on binaural techniques

Research fields
Binaural recording, synthesis and reproduction, noise from sources close to the ears, headphone calibration, temporary threshold shifts, oto-acoustic emission, binaural auralization.
